For more than a year now we shared every Monday one book we were reading on the twins instagram account (my.twins.closet).
As many of you asked we now will do a seasonal themed choosing and put it on blog so that you guys find them again easily!
So, our first theme was « back to school », and we have ten books we’d like to share with you (all existing in english), here’s why :
- My teacher is a monster : one kid is so afraid of school he thinks his teacher is a monster but once he meets her at local park discovers she might be human…
- Mommy at school : one ind is so afraid to go to school he wants Mommy to go to school too but very soon wants her to just …
- Does the teacher sleeps at school ? : something the twins always ask me 🙂 Find out the truth there!
- Leon’s school : from humans to trees and building, perfect for kids to discover exactly what school is and not being afraid of it!
- Pop at school : Pop is a well known character studied in French school that is the cutest and the sweetest. In this books there’s a math catch that is clever.
- Little Monster wants to go school / Gloups : often studied in kindergarten, these monsters stories have some interesting meaning behind their stories.
- The school is back to school : the one I Loved the most! For once it is not about the student, it is about the school, she is afraid at first of the student coming in then…
- Mlle Nelson is gone : where is she ? (haha) Maybe she was too sweet to be a teacher…
- An horrible day : was your first day back to school that horrible? Of course not 😉
We read each of these books that display more elaborated stories around one theme, being back to school. I did not tell you the whole stories and put images of them because my goal is to make you want to read it with your kids, not tell you all 😉

Livres de saison #1
Depuis plus d’un an, nous avons partagé chaque lundi un livre que nous lisions sur le compte instagram des jumeaux (my.twins.closet).
Comme beaucoup d’entre vous l’ont demandé, nous allons maintenant rassembler nos choix saisonniers et nos thèmes sur le blog afin que vous puissiez les retrouver plus facilement!
Notre premier thème était donc «la rentrée des classes» et nous avons dix livres que nous aimerions partager avec vous, voici pourquoi:
- Ma maîtresse est un monstre: un enfant a tellement peur de l’école qu’il pense que sa maitresse est un monstre, mais une fois qu’il l’a rencontrée au parc local, il découvre qu’elle pourrait être humaine…
- Maman à l’école: un enfant a tellement peur d’aller à l’école qu’il veut que maman aille à l’école aussi, mais très vite il préfère qu’elle…
- Est-ce que la maîtresse dort à l’école? : quelque chose que les jumeaux me demandent toujours 🙂 Découvrez vite la vérité !
- L’école de Léon: des humains aux arbres en passant par la construction, idéal pour que les enfants découvrent ce qu’est exactement l’école et pour ne pas en avoir peur!
- Pop à l’école: Pop est un personnage bien connu étudié à l’école, et qui est le plus mignon et très doux. Dans ce livre, il y a une astuce mathématique intelligente.
- Le petit ogre veut aller à l’école / Gloups : souvent étudiés à la maternelle (niveau MS/GS), ces histoires de monstres ont un enseignement intéressant derrière leurs histoires.
- L’école fait sa rentrée : mon préféré ! Pour une fois, ce n’est pas à propos de l’élève, mais de l’école, elle a peur au début d’ailleurs de tous ces élèves, mais après…
- Mlle Nelson a disparu : où est-elle? (haha) Peut-être qu’elle était trop gentille pour être enseignante…
- Une jour affreux : son premier jour de rentrée scolaire a-t-il été aussi horrible? Bien sûr que non 😉 Parfait pour des GS, voir CP du fait des illustrations.
Nous lisons chacun de ces livres qui présentent des histoires plus élaborées autour d’un thème, celui de la rentrée des classes. Je ne vous ai pas raconté toutes les histoires ni mis des images d’eux parce que mon objectif est de vous donner envie de le lire avec vos enfants, donc je ne vous dis pas tout volontairement 😉

Kids as young as few months can start to get involve in reading books, touching them or adult can read them to them. You have a complete list of books, they are colorful and attractive and I am sure kids would love to touch and hold them.

Those books are really beautiful and love its color. It is so nice to get involve our kids in reading books as they help them to sharpen their minds.

My baby is 11 months and I already read to him. I think it’s great to read to kids because there are so many kids now who are illiterate. I also love that you did this blog in two languages.

Awww so cool you already read to him! It is so great to start early! Yes its so sad so many kids dont read nowadays… way too many ipads lol! As for the langages thank you so much! Its a job but I dont want my French followers to feel like I’ve left them behind ❤ 🙂

LOVE LOVE LOVE this! My little guy and I read together and I’m always searching for new books! Any book suggestions that have french and english? Bonus points if the book can read the french out loud since I speak very little french!

Thank you so much!! 🙂 All books I share have an English version 😉 BUT if you are looking for books where it is written both in French and English (so that you can practice haha) take a look at Dual langage story books, Talking pen and I can read French, perfect kids books editors for bilingual kiddos or learners 😉 ❤
