The color monster is all mixed this morning. His emotions are upside down. What Happens when the emotions are upside down?
The friend of the monster asked him to find out and to try to organize his emotions.
Each primary emotion is presented on a double page with a pop up animation.
Joy is represented by the yellow because it shines like the sun and rocked the heart like a bee.
Sadness is represented by the blue as it cools the heart like a rainy day. Sometimes tears roll of the eyes.
Knowing the emotions, it is easier to understand. Knowing what it feels is important.
The book ends with a question: « Can you tell me how you feel? « .
The Color Monster is a pretty fun book with a format that will appeal to children. From 3 years and more, but you can present it to a child under 2 as it has great colors and animations.

La couleur des émotions
Le monstre des couleurs est tout barbouillé ce matin : on dirait qu’il s’est emmêlé les pinceaux. Ses émotions sont sans dessus dessous. Comment s’y retrouver ?
La petite fille, une amie du monstre, va lui proposer d’apprendre à reconnaître ses émotions et même, de les “ranger”.
Pour cela, chaque émotion est représentée par une couleur primaire et présentée sur une double page avec une pop up d’animation.
La joie est jaune. Elle brille comme le soleil et réchauffe le coeur lorsqu’on la ressent!
La tristesse, plus froide, est représentée par le bleu. L’animation pop-up fait apparaître la pluie, car lorsque l’on est triste, bien souvent, on pleure.
L’important avec un tel livre, c’est d’apprendre à connaître ses émotions, car en effet, lorsque l’on connaît ses émotions, il est plus facile de les comprendre et c’est très important.
A la fin, le livre vous demande : « Peux-tu me dire ce que tu éprouves ? ».
Bien souvent, les enfants seront capables de vous indiquer leur ressenti, par la couleur, en indiquant que comme le monstre, ils se sentent bleu, ou jaune.
Ce qui est intéressant, c’est de recréer le monstre, ou les bouteilles, et de colorier comme le livre l’indique, en bleu, jaune, rouge ou vert, de manière à permettre à l’enfant d’exprimer ses émotions.
